(Bro. Baby Mathews , the beloved husband of our Sis.Elsie Baby ,is in heavenly abode. The loss is not only for Sis.Elsie Baby and her children but to the denomination of Christian church they are belonged to and the entire community and above that , it is a great loss for our "NEW WORLD FAMILY" because Sis. Elsie Baby's family is surely a part of
"NEW WORLD FAMILY". We join, Sis.Elsie Baby, children,all family members and all others to offer our Condolences and prayers to God Almighty to have a peaceful rest of Bro. Mathews in the arms of our Lord.)

We have been praying for Bro. Baby Mathews of Atlanta. He went to be with the Lord on Wednesday afternoon (January 14, 2009) at 1:05 p.m. EST. He was 74 years old. He is survived by his wife Sis. Elsie Baby, son Moncy Mathew and daughter Gladys Paul. Viewing will be on Friday, January 16, 2009 from 5:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at

Obituary

Br. Baby Mathews {Kodiyatu B Mathews} was born on November 21rst , 1934 in Kerala India. He was born into a Christian family and brought up by Christian parents. He was born again in to the family of God by accepting Jesus Christ as his personal savior by Grace through faith and became a child of God. He testified his faith in the waters of baptism and continued in the fellowship of local assembly and grew spiritually. He married Elsie on May 14th , 1959 and started their married life together, committing their life under the guidance of the Holy Spirit. God blessed them with 3 beautiful children and 5 grand children. Mathews and Elsie migrated to USA in 1976 looking forward to a better life. They joined with the believers in New York and worshiped the lord together in India Gospel Assembly.
Br: Mathews had a leadership ministry. He loved the Lord and the Lord's people. He was well known for his hospitality towards believers and non-believers. He was also known as kindhearted and a loving person. His passion was to entertain God's people in his home and support the needy generously. His desire to help people in India was exceptional.
As a husband, he was faithful and affectionate to his wife. As a father he was exemplary to his children. He loved his grand children and they were his pride and joy. He gave them advices and encouraged them to grow rooted in the word of God and walk with the Lord.
From the time he came to New York, he and his family was in fellowship with the India Gospel Assembly and later Br. Mathews served as one of the Elders of India Gospel Assembly until he left New York.
He was an active supporter of the Thiruvalla Medical Mission. His heart was always in pursuit of finding how he can help the work of the Lord.
He moved to Georgia in 2002 with his family to live together with his children and grand children. He joined the Gwinnett Bible Chapel family and was in sweet fellowship with the believers and was a blessing to others. He had multiple medical conditions including Diabetes and heart complications.
On December 31, 2008 he was admitted to the hospital with pneumonia and there the Lord was pleased to call him home to receive his crown of righteousness on January 14, 2009 at 1 05 PM.
He left a legacy and remarkable model to follow in many ways. He inspired many lives through his exemplary life. His love and affection was wholesome and without hypocrisy. He was a cheerful giver and very kind and generous towards everyone. Even though he was not a great preacher, his life touched many hearts and only the eternity will reveal the depth of his goodness. We will miss him very much. He is survived by his loving mother Mariamma, his beloved wife Elsie, son Monzy, his wife Indra and children Elizabeth, Daniel, and Joel survive him. His daughter Gladys, her husband Rojers and children Jordan and Christina. Please uphold the bereaving family in your prayers.
