NEWS: ELECTION OF IAMCY: BY THOMAS KOOVALLOOR

Indian American Malayalee community of Yonkers Inc. convened it's annual general body meeting and general election on February 14th, 2009 at 54 yonkers terrace, in the evening at 7 pm. president Thomas Koovalloor presided the meeting. The general body started with a prayer followed by president's speech. In his speech Thomas koovalloor mentioned that even though he is leaving from his position he will continue to support the association by all means. after his sppech Secretary Thomas Chavara presented the annual report followed by Treasurer georgekutty Oommen presented the audited income and expenditure account. Then association Board chairman M.K.Mathew conducted the election procedure. FOKANA former treasurer Raju Zacharia was elected as the new president for the year 2009. Thomas Chavara elected as Vice President,Treasurer Georgekutty Oommen ,Vargheese Cheru as Joint treasurer, M. K. Mathews was unanimously elected as Secretary, Dr. Harijith as joint Secretary. Sheela Cheru was elected as Public Relations Officer. Committee members: Vinod philip, Bahuln Gopalan, Alias T. Varkey, Geevarghese joseph, Elizabeth George, Joy Puliyanal. Officio.Auditors: Vincent Paul, Jason Mathew.After the election newly elected president Raju Zacharia praised the outgoing president Thomas Koovalloor who is the founding secreatry of the association and his dedication and effort to bring this assoication one of the leading associations in New york and surrounding areas. Raju Zacharia also promised to make this association one of the best associations in the U.S. Newly elected Secretary M. K. Mathew has given vote of thanks.
