Nobody Knows You When You're Down and Out
by Jimmy Cox
Once I lived the life of a millionaire
Spent all my money & I didn't care
Taking my friends out for a mighty good time
Buying high priced liquor, champagne and wine
But then I began to fall so low
I didn't have a dollar, I had no place to go
Well if I ever get my hands on a dollar again
I'll hold on to it til the eagle grins
Nobody knows you / when you're down and out
In my pocket not one penny
And when it comes to friends, I haven't any
But when I get back on my feet again
Everybody wants to be my long lost friend
It's mighty strange without a doub
Nobody knows you when you're down and out
