In Sanskrit


Vasamsi Jirnani yatha vihaya
Navani grhnati naro ‘parani
Tatha Sarirani vihaya jirnany
Anyani Samyati navani dehi

Eglish Translation


As a man casts off his worn-out clothes
And takes on other new ones (in their place)
So does the embodied soul cast off his worn-out bodies
And enters other new.


Chapter 4:8


Paritranaya, sadhunam
Vinasaya ca duskritam
Dharma –Samsthapanarthaya
Sambhavami yuge yuge

English Translation

For the protection of the good,

For the destruction of evildoers,
For the setting up of righteousness,
I come into being, age after age.
