( Cynthia Abegail Bernardo, our distinguished writer and eminent poetess has sent the following wonderful poem. I have read this poem many times admiring its beauty and depth.)
George Kurian for New World
Sonata by Dawn
I woke up by the subtle speck of the sun
A gleam of happiness as a new day beacon
But, where is my beloved a gem beyond?
Have you forgotten that by the elusive hill
Running together though there's a chill
Have I offended thee today you were gone?
Heart dreary so dark as I ponder at the top
Feelings of anticipation of your coming
Come my beloved, as tears were rolling!
Suddenly a shadow by my doe eyes I see
Is it you or just a figment of imagination
Rushing with the wind as a cushion...
Joy filled my soul as your smile not wry
I thought you were almost gone and fly
Come, my beloved... as my heart flutters!
