Accept the gift of a new heart.
I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit in you; I will remove from you your heart of stone and give you a heart of flesh. And I will put my Spirit in you and move you to follow my decrees and be careful to keep my laws. Eze 36:26
Every single day begins with the Lord willing to give us a ‘new heart’, but our stubborn natures turn a blind eye to what the Lord wants to give us. We continue to keep grudges, we dwell on our hurts, we indulge in self-pity and so clash with God’s Plan for our lives.
Forgiveness is difficult, more so if we are deeply hurt, or betrayed by a loved one. Yet it is the will of God that we forgive. Jesus showed us from the Cross that there is no excuse for not forgiving, when He forgave His torturers from the Cross and prayed that God will forgive them too! “Father forgive them for they know not what they do!”
(Thanks to Jane Pimenta, our prolific writer for stressing on the value of forgiveness. If Jesus can forgive our sins, totally; why can't we? Excellent!) New World
