This is a love poem for the young and the young at heart!
Were the daffodils in bloom yesterday,
When you said goodbye on a charade
Walked to the park by the everglade
Searching for you by the river shade...
Were the roses gone in the garden,
When you went away burdened
Tears rolled much sorrow laden
Searching for you up the mountain...
Were the lilies thrown in the sea?
Did I offend thee hiding in the tree
Could not sleep dark eyes abode
Searching for you by the wood...
Were the tulips faded at the door?
Did I hurt you around the moor
Misty eyes yet round as dawn
Searching for you at the lawn!
Suddenly shadows a mirage,
Embraces tender and sweet
My heart leapt like a deer...
Smiles now, my love so near!
