SEASONED DRY MEAT: RECIPE FORWARDED BY CHARMINE ILAGO

TAPA (Seasoned Dried Meat)

2 lbs. boneless pork butt or beef--round, slice thinly
1/3 cup soy sauce
5 tbsp. packed brown sugar
1 tsp. salt
1/3 cup vinegar
2 cloves garlic, minced

1. Combine all ingredients thoroughly and store covered in the refrigerator for several days.
2. Dry in the sun if possible (a full day in the sun should be enough) or arrange them on a cookie sheet and dry them in a slow oven (140 degrees F) for 5 hours.
3. Fry or boil till done.
