THE CRY OF MONEY: POEM: BY MARY VARGHESE

Money, money, money
If money could speak
What would it speak?

Can you hear the stifled voice
Of money crying out
“I am depressed and sad
Tired of people abusing me
And using me for purposes that are wrong.

You steal, lie and cheat,
Commit crimes to get me;
I cry out hoarsely that,
I am hoarded! I am wasted!
With no one to hear my plea.

Some think I am their security
Though certainly I can save none;
Some act as if I am god
But surely I am not!
I lie faint, fighting the greed of man…….

I wish……I wish…….people knew
The good they could do with me
If only…..they treated me right;
How blessed their lives would be
And the lives of many around too.”

Hear the cry of money,
“Oh Mankind! Use me, please
Do not abuse me!!!!!!”
