(The description about Torah, Tenak and Naviim by Respected Bishop Dr. Verghese Mathai will give some insight into the subjects. Thanks)
The Tenak, in simple terms, is the Jewish Bible – that part of the Scripture the Jewish people recognize as their own Bible – the Old Testament or Covenant. Tenak is an acronym (a word formed from the initial letter of a name or names) for:
Torah – the First Five Books which we call The Law or the Pentateuch. In Arabic it is known as the thourath.
Naviim (Nabiyim) – The Nabis or Prophets is normally known as the Prophetic Books starting from Isaiah to Malachi of the Old Testament. It includes the so-called Major Prophets – Isaiah, Jeremiah, Lamentations of Jeremiah, Ezekiel, and Daniel, as well as the Minor Prophets – Hosea, Joel, Amos, Obadiah, Jonah, Micah, Nahum, Habakkuk, Zephaniah, Haggai, Zechariah and Malachi. The classification into major and Minor is based on the bulk of the individual books and not on their importance or their superiority or inferiority
