"A boat of fisherman who managed to hook a shark on their line and were just centimetres away from hauling in the sizable catch, were left stunned when a ‘goliath’ grouper snatched the shark from their grasp, swallowing it whole.
The amazing footage was captured on camera and uploaded to YouTube by user Gimbb14.
In a Reddit post, Gimbb14 described the incredible scenes:
“Ran out to the reef at around 8am yesterday and wasn't having much luck. Put out a chum block, set down some blue runners on the reef and waited."
"Had a goliath grouper take and brought him up, as I brought him to the boat, the monster goliath shown in the video came and tried to steal him."

"As I was dehooking the shark, the goliath came back and inspected but didn't attack him."
"Finally, about an hour after the nurse shark, I hooked the black tip behind the boat in the chum slick, and then the hilarity in the video began.”
Users on Reddit, where the video has been up-voted to the Front Page, commented things like, "And that is why the ocean terrifies me," "There's always bigger fish," and, "My God! What's a grouper?!"
Groupers typically have a thick, strong body and a large mouth with heavy crushing tooth plates. Their mouths and gills form a powerful sucking system to swallow prey rather than bite pieces off."
