KNOWLEDGE IS POWER: VERY REV. DAVID CHERUTHOTTIL

(NEW WORLD  thanks  VERY REV.FR.DAVID CHERUTHOTTIL for sending us the following valuable article and the respected ACHAN's Article is blessed guidance for the students and others alike.)

Graduation is a milestone and a turning point in a child’s life. High School was one obstacle, but it’s college that paves the way for your future and helps you grow as an adult. Life can be looked at as a stepping stone, so as you take another step, don’t leave God behind. Many things are going to change in your life, but keep God by your side at all times and God will guide you along the way.

As we know, knowledge is power which will in the end lead to success. Jesus was a wise, obedient, and knowledgeable man who tried to learn more and more from the Holy Books. As we read in St Luke 2: 48-52, “And when they saw him, they were amazed: and his mother said unto him, Son, why hast thou thus dealt with us? Behold, thy father and I have sought thee sorrowing. And he said unto them, How is it that ye sought me? Wist ye not that I must be about my Father’s business? And they understood not the saying which he spoke unto them. And he went down with them, and came to Nazareth and was subject unto them: but his mother kept all these sayings in her heart. And Jesus increased in wisdom and stature, and in favour with God and man.” From this we learn that even Jesus needed education in order to grow as a person. Education is the key to success and will help you achieve everything you want in life. We live in a world where there is plenty of opportunity, but the most important thing to remember is to answer it when it comes knocking.

In life, there are role models such as parents and teachers to educate us and lead us into the right path. These people help us along the way and lead us to the path of good. As we read in St. Matthew 19: 13-14. “Then were there brought unto him little children, that he should put his hands on them, and pray: and the disciples rebuked them. But Jesus said, Suffer little children and forbid them not, to come unto me: for of such is the kingdom of heaven.” God has given everyone free will and the choice to make their own path. As we all know, there is bound to be detours along any path we take, so two roads will always lie ahead of us. Do we take the road less traveled by or do we follow every one else’s path is the question? Parents have experienced many things in their lifetime, so they are there to help their children choose the right path. They don’t want their children to make the same mistakes and want them to have an easier life, so they will help you in the direction of which road to take. It is people such as teachers and our parents that have the life experience, so they are wise beyond their years. With age comes wisdom, so these are the right people to turn to for advice and bring you back onto the right path when a detour happens to come your way. The main thing is to keep God in your life and God will help things fall into place for you. As Christians, reaching heaven is like getting the gold in Olympics, so I hope you choose the right path in getting to the victory stand.

In closing, I would like to take this opportunity to congratulate the graduates on reaching this milestone in your life. I would also like to wish you good luck on your future endeavors and may God be with you every step of the way on this new journey.
