To you my friends, I say do not be afraid of those who kill the body and after that can do no more. I will tell you whom to fear: fear him after he has killed has the power to cast into hell. Yes, I tell you, he is the one to fear. Lk 12: 4-6
Sometimes, we curl ourselves in fear of anything. Well, that could be normal because we are human. On a second thought, whom do we have to fear? Nothing and no one except God alone! When we are afraid, we are submitting ourselves to the agent of fear. Why? Because if one is truly in God, he
or she is fearless. The rain may come, thunder or fire, bad health, tribulations and so on.
The Lord has reiterated hundreds of times in the Holy Scripture, "Be not afraid." I know it is not that easy, but let us pray that Almighty God grant us the gift of fortitude in times of trouble. It is one of the gifts of the Holy Spirit. But one has to ask God, of course in a spirit of prayer and of contrite heart.
