Walnuts may slow cancer growth (quoted from Body and Soul, Herald Sun
"Researchers at Harvard Medical School discovered walnuts helped reduce the inflammation of bowel cancer cells and slowed cancer growth in a study on mice. They fed one group two servings of walnuts per day for 25 days, while a second group had a similar diet without the nuts. The walnut group showed 10 times the amount of omega-3 fatty acids---the more of this there was, the smaller the tumour. However, the researchers say the results, which were published in the Journal of Nutritional Biochemistry, may not be the same for humans.
