IF ONLY: POEM CYNTHIA ABEGAIL'S COLUMN

IF ONLY

If only I could climb the apex of the rainbow,
To see the violets and the orange hues anew
If only I could tiptoe on the bow with the dew
Then creep on the stairs to the sky's avenues.

As I see the rainbow, my bluish heart rejoices,
The promises were written, the belles of laces
Somewhere over the rainbow, a tunnel of light
For all, the hope beyond the rain and the blight.
If only I could tell you how much I care for you,
Thine heart can attest that it is really so true
If only I could cross the waters O' to see you
By the shore, reminisce the waves that ensue!

The waves rush back and forth, gutsy and free,
Free as the clouds wandering around as the lilies
If only I could gently whisper the deep longing
I look back to the rainbow O' hope and sighing!
