"The people in the towns where Jesus had performed most of his miracles did not turn from their sins, so he reproached those towns. 'How terrible it will be for you, Chorazin! How terrible for you too, Bethsaida! If the miracles which were performed in you had been performed in Tyre and Sidon, the people there would have long ago put on sackcloth and sprinkled ashes on themselves, to show that they had turned from their sins! I assure you that on the Day of Judgement God will show mercy to the people of Tyre and Sidon than to you." (Matt 11: 10-22)
There are still unbelievers in the past as well as of this generation. Jesus was even there, performing miracles on most of the people who rejected God's goodness and generosity.
The bottom line is sin: God likes us to turn away from our sins. God did not tell us that we are strong against sin. He only reminds us to do our best to align with Him in order to be strong against sin. Unfortunately, we could not do it alone! No matter how much we pray, but if our hearts are away from the Lord, nothing will happen. We must not pray like it is a chore, repeating prayers mechanically and not from the heart.
God likes us to believe with faith, unconditionally without reserve, fully and enthusiastically. We must rely on His great kindness and wait for His answer! We hope not to reject His miracles and not be so cold and calculating..,
Dear God, we pray today to please open our hearts to your Word. That we may believe in all of your miracles and that we may submit to your healing power! That we may put our unending trust in Thee, our Lord and our God...In Jesus Name, Amen.
