Exodus 4: 1-9 "Moses is granted miraculous powers:" Reflection by Cynthia

Then Moses answered, "But behold, they will not believe or listen to my voice, for they will say, 'The Lord did not appear to you.'"  The Lord said to him, "What is that in your hand?" He said, "A rod."  And he said, "Cast it on the ground."  So he cast it on the ground. and it became a serpent; and Moses fled from it.  But the Lord said to Moses, "Put out your hand and take it by the tail---so he put out his hand and caught it, and it became a rod in his hand---"that they may believe that the Lord, the God of their fathers, the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob has appeared to you.  Again, the Lord said to him, "Put your hand into your bosom.  And he put his hand into his bosom; and when he took it out, behold, it was restored like the rest of his flesh.  "If they will not believe you, "God said, "or heed the first sign, they may believe the latter sign.  If they will not believe even these two signs or heed your voice, you shall take some water from the Nile and pour it upon the dry ground; and the water which you shall take from the Nile will become blood upon the dry ground.  (Exod 4: 1-9).

God is the Master of the Universe and of all things visible and I visible.  Needless to say. God grants powers to whom He chooses.  In the case of the Book of Exodus, Moses was chosen in a special way for God's people to know Him, who created heaven and earth.

It is interesting to note that even though the people already know how God works, their hearts were resilient.  At this point in time, God does not force anyone to believe in Him.  Notice the word used by the Almighty One, if!  How humble a God we have.  When God can do anything, but because He loves us so much, we have a right to choose, to believe or not, to obey or not!

Miracles are granted via the prophet Moses.  How awesome the miracles!  God uses any instrument such as a snake ---a symbol of wile.  How come?  God can use anything He wishes for God has dominion over everything.  And God in his full Wisdom uses leprosy, the dreaded skin disease to make the points clear!  God used also the symbol of blood just like the blood poured on offering to Him but this time was used to increase the people's faith.  So that the Israelites could be freed from the yoke of oppression.

In this generation, it's somewhat similar.  God send his priests, ministers, evangelists to the world to spread His great love and mercy for all of us!  So that we maybe delivered from the yoke of oppression of sin.  God loves us and He never give up on anyone, all sinners, all of us!  It does not matter whether one is a prostitute, a robber or any one who sinned greatly!  Just repent, accept Jesus Christ as one's Saviour, live a life God meant us to live and anyone could be saved!  There is a guarantee, the Word of God.  Read the Bible, for there you will encounter Jesus, the God's Son.  Repent and believe the Gospel.  Today is the time--it is not late yet.  But be quick, for death comes like a thief.  Repent while we still have breath---The Lord waits for you patiently, lovingly!  Anyone is welcome to repent and for God's Kingdom.  On the other hand, seek God first and His Mingdom and all will be added unto you.  For God said so!  God's mercy is boundless and eternal..

Let us pray today that God, in His Son Jesus will grant us the grace of understanding in our hearts His daily miracles, that we may give daily thanksgiving for his endless provision, love, kindness and mercy.  Lord hear our prayer.  All of these we pray, in the Most Holy Name of Jesus.  Amen.
