They like to see to believe: Reflection on Good Friday by Cynthia Abegail
"Let the Messiah, King of Israel come down from that we may see and believe." (Mk 15:32).
The scribes with the chief priests mocked Jesus on the day of his crucifixion. What they have to present are only insults, mockery and vile words. If only they knew that they are insulting the Son of God, it would have been different!
Today, there are still people who insult Jesus and does not believe that He is the Son of God. From the passage, we can see that as they did not believe in the Son of God, they did not believe also the Heavenly Father who sent His Only Begotten Son. That is blasphemy...
Let us pray today that those who do not believe in the great sacrifice of Jesus Christ be touched by God in a special way. That they maybe given the gift of wisdom and knowledge to grasp the truth. As they accept Jesus, may they be liberated from false gods that they may worship the True, Living God.
We pray for all of us, sinners that Almighty God, through the Name of His Son Jesus may have mercy on us. That His Majesty may free us from the tendency to sin and that we may truly turn back from our old ways
