Jn 15:12 "Love one another": Reflection by Cynthia Abegail

"This is my commandment: Love one another as I have loved you."  (Jn 15:12)

It is already the Lord who command us to love another!  On the other hand, we get angry at every turn of the wind, satisfying our whims and caprices.  We get annoyed at every small thing that could be tolerated.  We bear grudges to our neighbours that takes not only months but several years.  Sometimes, we will say, "I will never forgive that person forever."

What have they done?  We ourselves most of the time disobey and offend the Lord!  We are readily forgiven, why we could not forgive.  God forgives, sometimes we do not.

Life is short, pride will not lead us anywhere but the pit.  Unforgiveness blatantly meant pride.  We are afraid to hurt our ego if in case we forgive others.

Forgive and forget!  It is not easy to do but possible only through prayer and attending Mass.  With men, it is impossible but with God, anything is possible.

Let us pray today that God will give us the grace to be able to forgive.  That we all maybe reconciled to our estranged family or friends.  Lord hear our prayer!  By the powerful intercession of Mary, Mother of Jesus, St Joseph, St Michael the Archangel, all of the Angels and saints.  Amen.
