"You know you that you were ransomed from the futile ways inherited from your ancestors, not with perishable things like silver or gold, but with the precious blood of Christ, like that of a lamb without defect or blemish." (1 Peter 1: 18)
In the ancient time, the Israelites offer the blood of lambs to God Almighty as an atonement for their sins. When Jesus came into the world, He became the perfect sacrifice for our salvation.
St. Peter stressed that we were ransomed not with perishable things but with the perfect precious Blood of Jesus. The Lord Jesus was the perfect Lamb of God, without defect or blemish. Later, Jesus was raised from the dead so that their hope and our very own hope and faith will be on God alone!
Let us pray today that the cost of our salvation can never be measured in material terms. We were saved by "God sending His Only Begotten Son." Lord, hear our prayer. In Jesus Name. Amen
It is disclosed in a revelation of a great Mystery of the Holy Trinity, God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit all in One! It is a mystery beyond understanding handed over by the Fathers of the Church.
