AS I PASS BY THE BEACH: REFLECTION BY CYNTHIA ABEGAIL

AS I PASS BY THE BEACH

The drizzle gave me a shiver; it's one of those
beautiful early morning. The sun shone not
too brightly but I love the shades of grayish
mood attune with the cool autumn.

At this time of the year, I gazed at the sea
waves. The ripples are in harmony with
my racing thoughts...about my future and
about humanity. Yes, time is fast in this
cosmopolitan area with those palm trees
that sways with utmost grace. Why am I
here in this world? Do I have any special
mission to do? Here I am again! Let me
rephrase my question. What can I do in
this world for my Creator and my brothers
and sisters!

Yes, that's it! Unselfishness, emptying out of
myself. It's not really that we are neglecting
ourselves. It is just a matter of reaching out
to others and bothering ourselves with how
we can assist in small or big ways. I looked
at the rushing ripples...

The ripples reminded me that they moved
not in isolation, but in unison and harmony!
That is the way of life. We really are not islands
unto ourself but within an archipelago where the
islands commune with each other. Let us expand
our horizon and reduce our eccentricities and
look out! Who is your neighbor?
