We are One

It is easy to say that we are one in the Spirit and we are one in God's love.  On the other hand, it is difficult to practice.

We define ourselves by belonging to a particular group which is fair enough!  Yet, with deeper recollection, we will realise that we have to define ourselves in God's love!

Remember the Parable of the Good Samaritan?  He loves one not of his kind.  This is God's love, difficult to comprehend but real and encompassing.  Sharing one's blessings is greatly pleasing in God's eyes.  We are not meant to hoard anything in this world for the earth and all in it is God's!  We do not own anything.  At the end of the day, let us look with compassion to our brother's and sisters, that look of solidarity, that look of "you belong here,"  that look of "I like to share in your longings and dreams."

I understand that we could be annoyed at times (very natural), but let us go beyond anger and sow peace which is from God alone.

Dear Lord, thank you for the world that you have provided for us to live.  Thank you for the family that you have given us to love and nourish in joy and in sorrow.  Thank you for the leaders in our countries who do their best to lead in times of turmoil and in times of quiet.  Thank you for our friends who share their laughter and dreams and who gives delight to our being.  Thank you for forgiving us from our sins despite of our hard headedness and stubbornness.  Thank you for everything!

We pray for peace in our world, guidance for all of our leaders, peace in our families, protection for our children and for the youth all over the world.  We pray for unbelievers that they may find solace in your unfailing love.  We pray for those who are going to die each day that as a King, You may release them from their faults and sins and bring them to heaven.  Thank you Heavenly Father, in the Name of your beloved Son Jesus Christ.

We pray through the powerful intercession of Mother Mary, St Joseph, St Michael the Archangel, all of the angels and saints, in Jesus Name.  Amen.
