CRY OUT TO THE LORD WITH FAITH: REFLECTION FORWARDED BY PRAYER AID

But the Lord sent a large fish that swallowed Jonah; and he remained in the belly of the fish three days and three nights. From the belly of the fish Jonah said this prayer to the Lord, his God : ‘Out of my distress I called to the Lord, and he answered me; From the midst of the nether world I cried for help and you heard my voice”. Jonah 2:1-2

Some of the situations we face make us feel like we are trapped in them! We do not know what to do, others whom we turn to, may also not know how to reach out to us, and so our anxiety level increases.
Caught in the belly of the fish, unable to move right or left, unable to contact anyone or get help, was the only way in which the Lord got Jonah’s full attention, and it made Jonah aware that no matter how bad things looked, God would always take care and provide.
The Lord does not want anything from us, all He needs is a heart that cries out to Him in faith – and He is moved to help.
