WE REMEMBER GEORGE KURIAN: THE GREAT WRITER AND THE GREAT WORKER FOR THE POOR
Some people are poor, some are rich but George Kurian who passed away last 15th of June 2015 was an extraordinary man who lived on earth at that time. As an outside observer, I found George a lover of the poor, the marginalised and the oppressed, in those years when I worked in New World as a volunteer Associate Editor.
George's novel Nagaland Chronicle: Over the Hills and Down the Valleys sums it all! It tells of a saga of a young man embroiled in the plight of the aborigines who lives in the border of India and the border country. It shows the bravery and golden heart of this young man who manifested the true meaning of Christianity: the Good Samaritan who welcomes all, with no prejudice at all!
Vale George but we are confident that God saw your innate goodness and love. May perpetual light shine upon him and may he forever rest in peace. Thanks be to God!
