LILIES OF THE FIELD BY MARIA CASSIA

LILIES OF THE FIELD

The crests in your brows deepen again,
Anxious of tomorrow and sand of time
Gaze at the lilies of the field that shuns
Dilemna of the hour bygones and gone!
Look how their stems sway with breeze,
Unmindful of decay and drought to lease
Eager for the bees' coming, pollen swift
Sweeten their allure to trap the whiff---
Not even King Solomon's clothes vie,
Or even Charlemagne of velvet robes
Of their innate beauty, O' so natural
As vivid colors display day and night.
Behold! Almighty God... Allow me to
Seek the Kingdom that never ends
Cast your burden, upon the Lord
Yet sleep as slumber by the Word!
The humble receives the blessings,
For the proud likes to be -- a god
Yet if poor in spirit, His utter glory

Manifests in His Wisdom.
