"May the God before whom my fathers Abraham and Isaac walked, the God who has been my shepherd all my life to this day, the Angel who has delivered me from all harm --may he bless these boys” Gen 48:15-16
Just before he died, Jacob was blessing Joseph’s sons and he was praying to “the God who has been my shepherd all my life to this day”
God is shepherd to us, holding us very close, when He is transforming us more and more to reflect His image, to reflect His light, when He is transforming attitudes in us that are not pleasing to Him. God is also a shepherd to us when He is bringing us out of our particular darkness. He never leaves us, not even for a moment, whether He is purifying, healing, strengthening, He is shepherd to us: loving, caring, and compassionate.
Let us trust the Shepherd of of our souls.
(Thanks to Jane Pimenta for a great reflection on how God walked with us and shepherded
us unconditionally). Excellent. New World
