Isaiah 66:1-2 "Humble and contrite spirit" ---Reflection by Cynthia Abegail
Thus says Yahweh: With heaven my throne and earth my footstool, what house could you build me, what place for me to rest, when all these things are made by me and all belong to me? ---declares Yahweh. But my eyes are drawn to the person of humbled and contrite spirit, who trembles at my word.
Awe of God! Obedience of his Word! Sincerity of ❤️ hearts! These are lost in this generation. When the mention of the Almighty to some people do not ring a bell. And they will say, Ahh! When it become so casual to talk and deal with God Almighty? Respect and love Him and everything associated with Him!
The simple, not that high flying intellectual who thinks he or she knows God by heart! The one who suffers, the one rejected by the world with true and contrite spirit, the one who looks up with so much love for God...
The poor who waits for His blessings, the ones who live day by day who do not know where to get his next meal! The depressed who longs for caring and loving, the good homeless who bears the cold and heat with newspapers as their beds! The mentally ill who became like this of no fault of their own, who was dejected by stigma, the leprous who never be dared to be touched and many many more. The widows, the divorced who are so lonely, the sick and the dying.
Generally, they are the ones closest to God's heart as they have a predisposition to be of humble and contrite spirit. Let us pray for all of them and let us pray for ourselves that we may stop to be proud and haughty, to be humble and to obey God's Word, to attend Mass for the Holy Eucharist to have the fullness of life. Through the intercession of Mother Mary, St Michael the Archangel, St Joseph, all of the angels and saints. In Jesus Name, Amen.
