AS A DEER LONGS FOR FLOWING STREAMS
The deer runs to the stream, it is extremely thirsty. It's focus is on
the quenching of it's thirst for water. Nothing distracts it to pursue
it's goal. When it reach the stream, it joyfully drinks of the coveted
water. Then it is fully satisfied and could ask for nothing more.
In the same way, man thirst for the presence of God. As the great saint
St Augustine said, "We shall not rest until we rest in Thee." Man yearns for
God's Word! It is powerful and 'like a sword, cuts' and penetrates one's
soul. Just like a deer that years for flowing streams, man yearns for
God. One may be surprised to know that God planted this desire in our hearts.
