Cor 12: 3b-7. The Variety of Gifts: Reflection by Cynthia Abegail
“There are many different gifts, but it is always the same Spirit. there are many different ways of serving but it is always the same Lord. There are many different forms of activity; but in everybody it is the same God who is at work in them. The particular manifestation of the Spirit granted to each one is to be used for the general good. 1 Cor 12:3b-7.
In the life in the Church, there is no need for jealousy. Everyone seems to be so energetic to serve the Lord that sometimes it leads to some sort of competition. In everything that we do for the Lord, our goal should always be peace and solidarity among us.
There are many ways of serving the Lord. It maybe through music, through pastoral service, through studying the Word, through serving in the Holy Mass and many more. It is the same God who is guiding all who serve and love Him with all their hearts.
When one is granted the gift of the Holy Spirit, that person has to use that gift for the welfare of all in the community. It should not be used for selfish interest or for one to be puffed up.
Come Holy Spirit, Come! Thou art welcome in our hearts!
