THE FARAWAY STAR: POEM BY MARY VARGHESE

[THE FARAWAY STAR
by Mary Varghese

Rains falling in torrents,
lashing against the panes
winds unpredictable blowing violently........
An angel of death stalks
the nook and corner
not a living soul does the street lamp lit up.
It's a lonely night,
dark and desolate wet and violent,
dreary and dragging
Out on such a night............
Shivers of fear and doubts chill my bones
Out on the desolate night, in search of dreams
Unsearchable,Unreachable, Unsurmountable
shrugs the worldly scribes,
near and dear ones shun me
from chasing the faraway star,
shining so clear
Distance makes it unreal,
But i know otherwise..........
The flickering lamp of love ,
in the engulfing darkness
spreads the light of hope and love.........
In a despairing attempt,
Hope dies........
to rise again unveiling a brighter morn,
rising from the ashes
hope that kindles in me,
a sure.....eternal essence a fire of everlasting bliss.
