Jn 6: 16-21. “Jesus Walks on the Water”
“When evening came, His disciples went down to the lake, got into a boat, and started across the lake to Capernaum. It was now dark, and Jesus had not yet come to them. The lake became rough because a strong wind was blowing. When they had towed about three or four miles, they saw Jesus walking on the lake and coming near the boat, and they were terrified. But he said to them, ‘It is I, do not be afraid. Then they wanted to take him into the boat, and immediately the boat reached the land towards which they were going.” (Jn 6: 26-21).
Trials come and go and suffering and solidarity with the Cross of Jesus is a reality of life. As the Lord stressed that if we like to follow Him, we have to carry our cross. However, the Lord is always with us to console our broken and weary hearts.
Human as we are, we get discouraged. We need the help from above. We need Jesus in our life! We need to trust Him no matter what happens. It is easy to say but difficult to do, isn’t it?
We become hopeless and helpless sometimes. We forget Jesus who says, “It is I.” Jesus comes to our aid. We may waver, but God loves us unconditionally and He is steadfast and faithful.
Let us remember St Peter when he said, “To whom shall we go? You have the words of eternal life!” Praise God! Alleluia!
