Psalm 23: Reflection by Jane Pimenta of Prayer Aid

Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me. Ps 23:4

Perhaps, in troubled times, we do not feel the Lord’s Presence, nor do we hear Him guide us, and it could be that prayer does not bring the comfort and consolation we seek.    Yet He is with us, He is working things out.  Other scripture vs tell us that He is with us always.  It is difficult in times of stress to believe the Lord is with us, but as I have shared earlier if He has knowledge of the number of hair we have, then He is very close to us.  As I write this, I am dealing with so much stress, I can barely get through all I have to do each day. Fighting the negative thoughts off over and over again is very tiring but that is what the Lord wants us to do, to remember that He is definitely with us with His rod and His staff….Let us pray for each other.  (This is one of my favourite Psalm!  It seems to cover almost everything about how David so loved the Lord!  He surrendered his whole life to God and he is never afraid.  A great lesson for all of us.  Excellent!).
