Love and Mercy—great attributes of God

God is Love!  The very opposite of love is hate.  “How can we love God if we hate our brothers and sisters?  These are the very people in our midst and God we could not see?  That’s hypocrisy.  We could see many people profess their love for God  in hyperbolic way!  On the other hand, some could denounce their neighbours in extreme negative ways.

God is merciful!  Do we have compassion for people who are suffering?  Are we able to emphatize with what these people are going through?  Instead of gossiping about them, why could we not console them at all, given an opportunity.  If God is merciful to us, why can’t we do the same for others?  Are we so proud?  Let us follow God’s ways so as to live as we are called to.  Nothing to lose, all to gain...
