Follow the path of the Lord: Reflection by Prayer Aid (Jane Pimenta)

You must follow exactly the path that the Lord your God has commanded you, so that you may live, and that it may go well with you, and that you may live long in the land that you are to possess.  Deut 5:33
St Augustine says “Our hearts were made for You Lord, they are restless until they rest in You”  Indeed the restlessness we often feel is because we are following our own path, making our own plans happen, maybe even being dependent on people rather than on God to see us through.  Jesus says to us in Matthew 11:28  “Come to Me all you who are heavy burden and I will give you rest”  which means peaceful rest is only from the Lord.  Let us read this vs from Deuteronomy many times till it begins to speak to us personally.  (Well done, Jane!  Sometimes we wonder what is happening in our life.  Then, we recalled that we have strayed from the path of God).
