The Empty Tomb: Reflection by Cynthia Abegail
“Early on Sunday morning, while it was still dark, Mary Magdalene went to the tomb and saw that the stone had been taken away from the entrance. She went running to Simon Peter and the other disciple whom Jesus loved, and told them, ‘They have taken the Lord from the tomb and we don’t know where they have put him.’ (Jn 20:1-2)

Mary Magdalene loves the Lord; even if it’s still dark, she went to the tomb. There’s no fear in her, since love casteth out fear. She was surprised that the Lord was not there. It is just normal to think that the guards may have taken her away.
Even at this point, Mary Magdalene do not still understand the big picture and so with the apostles. For them, it is still unthinkable that the Lord will rise from the dead. There will be a time that finally, they will get the true meaning of the resurrection.
