Be still in the presence of the Lord, and wait patiently for him to act.  Ps 37:7

All of us have needs to be met.  We have dreams to realise, hopes unabated, worries on every details of our lives.  Sometimes, we wonder what is happening in our lives; misfortunes come and go, struggles in every aspect of our journey.

Then, we realise that there is no one to seek but only the Lord!  We prayed fervently that our problems will be solved.  We waited and sometimes the answer is:  "Not yet."  We fret and have tantrums, "Lord, please answer now."

My brothers and sisters, we are dealing with an Awesome God, the Owner of the Universe, the Great Creator!  We just have to be still, be calm and wait!!!  If we have all the answers at each petition at the exact time we would like answers to be, we are acting as if little gods to have things at our disposal whenever we wish things to be.  On the other hand, we have to show our confidence in Almighty God that He will fulfill the desires of our hearts at His own time for our better good.  This is the symbol of trust---unconditional trust in the One who can make wonders in our lives.  A complete surrender to the One who loves us whoever we are!

In His presence, nothing matters.  As from the words of a great Saint, St Theresa of Avila, "Nothing matters, only God suffices."  Like a baby cradled by a mother on her breasts, let us lay down our hearts on the bosom of the Father,

___with our eyes adoring Him, with our ears sensitive to His voice and with a joy surpassing our imagination, still and confident that He will sustain us forever!

In Jesus Name,
