ROSE OF SHARON: POEM BY CYNTHIA ABEGAIL

ROSE OF SHARON

I know that the day is coming so soon,
Coming from the tents of Kedar moon
Ebony skin yet eyes like a doe of pearl
The sun has burnt : yet irises of dove...

Where is this Sharon, the king asks
It is where His love abides gently...
Head up high for from Lebanon
Solomon's bride shone of utter joy!

A metaphor of God's love for all,
The bride He cares forever, He calls...
Not to abandon at everlasting end,
To carry on odds and bliss bestows.

The love that's beyond understanding,
And who can fathom God's mind ---
Even the bride is puzzled in rhymes
Yet her eyes is on the Groom, the King!
Inspired by Song of Songs
