Build the Kingdom of God and not the spirit of negativity: Reflection by Jane Pimenta of Prayer Aid

Then the word of the Lord came by the hand of Haggai the prophet, “Is it a time for you yourselves to dwell in your panelled houses, while this house lies in ruins?  Now, therefore, thus says the Lord of hosts: Consider your ways.  You have sown much, and harvested little. You eat, but you never have enough; you drink, but you never have your fill. You clothe yourselves, but no one is warm. And he who earns wages does so to put them into a bag with holes.             Haggai 1:3-6
The people of Israel were more interested in rebuilding their own homes than the temple of the Lord.  Therefore the Lord called their attention to their status….”Consider your ways…….bags with holes”
St Paul says that we are the Temple of the Holy Spirit – if we continually dwell on the negative things that happen to us, we will never be able to rebuild ourselves and focus on the Lord.  As long as we are harbouring bitterness we can never be truly happy – Let us let go of the past, change our negative attitudes, and focus on the goodness and mercy of Jesus and begin to rebuild the Temple of the Holy Spirit so we can receive all the blessings coming to us. (Beautiful reflection.  It gives us great spiritual food for thought.  Excellent, Jane).  Cynthia Abegail in behalf of New World.
