Thus says the Lord--- I shall make her bare and dry I shall put an end to her merry days No more wool, flax and oil! No more festivals, New Moons and sabbaths; her vines decayed Chased after a false God--- Burning incense and forgot Me! I will block her way with thorns, She forgot that I was the One who gives her plenty and liI will let her die of thirst---- But, I am going to woo her And she will go to the desert Where I will speak to her heart I shall give her back the vineyards As before; she will answer as when she left Egypt! On that day, Baal is no more! I will erase from her lips their names--- I shall bethroth her to myself, I shall take pity on her and her people! My love for her is eternal and everlasting, I will be with her till the end of the age--- I have carved her on the palm of my hand, I will always love her, never ending in time... Did I stray O' Lord from Thine's paradise? Am frail, but Thou art strong and mighty! Anoint me with Thy power so I could rise--- To the vineyard, verdant among the lilies! Inspired by: Hosea 1-2 (This is an allegory of God's love for his people. We may stray but God always pursue us and take us back. God's love is unfathomable, beyond the understanding of our finite minds. His mercy is like an ocean, so deep and beyond our view of the horizon) All rights reserved: Cynthia Abegail ( The faith in true God should last and will be rewarded abundantly. A beautiful and meaningful Poem with a great message. Thanks Cynthia) New World
