”Remain in me, Thus says the Lord” Reflection by Prayer Aid

Remain In Me, as I remain in you.  No branch can bear fruit by itself; it must remain on the vine, so neither can you unless you remain in Me”          John 15:4
The Israelites took 40 years to come to the Promised Land, because of their lack of faith!  Because of lack of faith, they disobeyed God because of their disobedience they had a miserable journey!  Life was not easy on them, they were treated miserably by Pharaoh and learnt and gradually learnt not to trust.   Life has not always been easy on us too, people have betrayed us, mistreated us, rejected us with the result we are weary to trust easily – this attitude towards others, and our  relationship with God too and we end up preferring to control our situation than surrendering it to Him and abiding in Him.  (Like the Israelites)  If today we feel trapped in a situation,  or like a branch that is not bearing fruit, its time to let go and let our God take control of it.  Let us take one bold step forward and decide to trust God with what is bothering you.  (I totally agree, we must be vigilant to abide with the true vine, Lord Jesus.  Excellent, Jane).  New World
