A Beautiful Homily: “God remembers”

There was a time I attended Mass before Christmas and a priest delivered a wonderful homily!  It tells about how Zechariah was not able to speak because he did not believe what the Angel announced about Elizabeth to bear a child at an old age.

In due time, when St John was born, Zechariah was given back his speech.  And the homily spun around the time when we ourselves get into suffering, trouble or problems.  But, at an appointed time, “God remembers.”  God is with us, “Emmanuel.”

The reason why I found this homily fascinating is it ties up with our lives.  Life is not a bed of Roses, most of us are not saints and we are all sinners.  We get into trouble in one way or another.  Even so,... God remembers us!  He never forgets us!  For awhile, we maybe wallowing in sadness, but it’s not the end of the world for us.  We will be saved!  We will leap like a deer when the time comes and joy will fill our hearts!  Praise God forever and ever...
