New Wine into fresh skins: Mk 2:22 Reflection by Cynthia Abegail

“And nobody puts new wine into old skins; otherwise, the wine will burst the skins, and the wine is lost and the skins too.  No!  New wine into fresh skins!  (Mk 2:22)

There is always compatibility in Christian life.  When one accepts Jesus as His Saviour, then new things happen.  The person change into somebody new and his old unloving, selfish ways is gone.  On the other hand, a man was given free will.  When he sins and does not live the life he ought to have, then there is a kind of bursting.  It does not make sense!  Good Christian life should be clothed with goodness, kindness, etc.  If the man lives this way, then, it becomes a waste.  It becomes hypocrisy.  It’s because new wine must be in fresh skins.
