St Gertrude is one of the woman saints who has the "Great" after her
name. She had been a maiden with unparalleled virtue aside from our
very own Blessed Mother Mary.
From the chronicles of the Fathers of the Church and of those who
wrote her autobiography, her soul is so purified because of her
great love for our Lord Jesus Christ.
In her passionate love for the centre of her life, she was said to have
been given the Prayer for suffering Souls of Purgatory.
