BE IN A QUIET PLACE AT TIMES: REFLECTIONS BY PRAYER AID

REFLECTION

The apostles gathered around Jesus and reported to him all they had done and taught. Then, because so many people were coming and going that they did not even have a chance to eat, he said to them, "Come with me by yourselves to a quiet place and get some rest." So they went away by themselves in a boat to a solitary place. Mark 6:30-32

They reported to Jesus all they had done! DOING!

Doing is what our lives are filled with. And it is the ‘doing’ so much that often gets us down, and makes us frustrated, angry. In the busy schedules of our day, Jesus is saying to each of us "Come with me by yourselves to a quiet place and get some rest." Rest with HIM, rest listening to HIM. Jesus is calling us to stop ‘doing’ and start ‘being’ present to Him. When we rush from one thing to another, we are scarcely listening to the people around us. Rushing is a habit with us, and even when we come to the Lord, we rush! Jesus wants us to be with Him, speak to Him at length, and listen to Him speak to us. If this is what we want too, then we have to begin to slow down and make quality time for the Lord.
(Thanks Jane for a deep insight about finding a quiet place to reflect; good to always pray
to God Almighty! Very Good).  New World
