FORTRESS OF MY SOUL BY CYNTHIA ABEGAIL
This is a poem that signifies that God with his abundant love
and mercy welcomes us!
Fortress of my Soul
The other day I heard a knock from the door,
I peeped through the hole to see my guest
What a surprise, it is the quest of my dreams,
It is the Lord, with a soft smile that wins!
I run to the door almost stumbling with joy,
Oh Lord, I am elated to meet you today
Am I so special so much fears allayed
By your presence, nothing is delayed!
Were you busy today with the world?
Did you found time to sing me praises?
Were you pondering my letter to you?
Did you reflect on how much I love you?
Truly I say Lord to be honest and true,
At dawn I was busy reading about you
I prayed so much I fail to notice the dew
By my window that touch the rosy view.
Were you busy today with the senses?
Did you found time to reflect this morn?
Were you delighted at my gifts ever...
Of love, hope, faith and peace forever.
Will you be angry if I say, my Holy One,
Sometimes I stray and once forlorn...
Truly I am sorry for these things,
Never would I like to offend Thee!
My child, my love is everlasting,
All I seek is for your happiness
Come back to me do not hesitate
I am your fortress at any state!
Thanks O' Lord for your patience,
I open now the door of my soul
I love you so much like a dove,
Singing praises to you with love!
