“How God loved the world” John 3:16-18

“Jesus said to Nicodemus: “For this is how God loved the world:  He gave his only Son, so that everyone who believes in him may not perish but may have eternal life.  For God sent his Son into the world not to judge the world, but so that through him, the world might be saved. No one who believes in him will be judged; but whoever does not believe is judged already because that person does not believe in the Name of God’s only Son.”  John 3:16-18

God presents to us the Good News! To believe the One whom He sent:  His Only Beloved Son, Jesus Christ.  This is the gift of salvation.  But a gift could be accepted or rejected.  On the other hand, of course, rejection has consequences.  The one who does not believe is judged already because that person did not believe in Jesus whom the God the Father sent.

Just a concrete analogy although it will not perfectly match the greatness of God.  For example, you sent your son to get the debts of your debtor.  Instead of welcoming the son, the debtor hurt and insulted your son.  What will you feel?  You will feel rejected and not respected.  Then, you will find a way that justice will prevail as you are a father who loves your son.

God is so loving and compassionate.  He loves all of us with an everlasting love.  He waits for us to receive Jesus as our Saviour, His Son whom he dearly love.  It’s God already saying this to us, why will we not believe?  Let us be soft-hearted and yield to Almighty God, our Creator of whom we will not exist if he did not allow us to exist.  We owe our single breath to our Creator, why won’t we believe the Source of everything?  God is waiting now, tomorrow and always.
