“Be still and know that I am God.” Reflection by Prayer Aid (Jane Pimenta)

Be still and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth.  Ps 46:10

The Holy Spirit is asking us to be still!  Let us be aware of His Presence, let us decide firmly that the Holy Spirit controls our day well, and that He has prepared it for us to have peace.  Let us take our minds off our situation and focus on Jesus today, and be aware that He is very near to us no matter where we are.    As we remain still and allow the Holy Spirit to work in us, and through us, He is building and strengthening our faith.  Fear will give way to excess planning and worrying.  Fear will keep us in control and shut the Spirit out.  Each time we lean towards controlling, let us return to His Presence and be still.  (Be still, God is with us!  Let us surrender fully to the will of God.  Excellent reflection on Ps 46).
