“They woke Him and said to Him, ‘Master, do you not care? We are lost! And He woke up and rebuked the wind and said to the sea, ‘Quiet now! Be calm!’ And the wind dropped, and there followed a great calm. Then he said to them, ‘Why are you so frightened? Have you still no faith? They were overcome with awe and said to one another, ‘Who can this be? Even the wind and the sea obey Him.’ (Mk 4:38-41).
Life is beset of trials and tribulations. At times of difficulty, it is normal for us to be afraid or frightened. We are overwhelmed by crises, disasters and so on. Yet, on deeper thinking, Why? If we really have solid faith in the Lord, we just have to pray and beg for His mercy! The King of the Universe! What can Jesus can’t do? He can do everything.
Sometimes, if we miss the point, do not be dismayed. Even the apostles experienced those things. The Lord will be the one to calm our storms, not us. As St Paul in Ephesians 6 stressed that we are not battling against the flesh but against the powers of darkness. Only God can cast these bad situations away. Let us just focus on trusting Him without doubt.
Let us pray today that the Lord will vanquish our enemies and will always fight our battles. Only in Him, that we have victory. Through the powerful intercession of Mother Mary, St Joseph, St Michael the Archangel and Archangels and Angels in heaven and all of the saints, In Jesus Name. Amen
