FLOWERS O' DELIGHT
It was almost sunrise as dawn recedes,
The sonata of the birds billows amidst
My garden that I tended of rosy roses
Remembered my beloved, then muses!
Lilies abound gives me utter delight,
Pinkish, orangy... peaches and cream---
Comforts my willowing heart of might
As I pen words from the sense of light!
The soil is damp from the dew of night,
Assures moisture that gives life at sight
And care that I give to the flowers today
Is the care that I give for those I loved!
Immense in nature, pure and ethereal,
Its colors are crimson, beige, and some
Days its green, but never never black--
Since my love never faints, never dulls!
