Do not, O Lord, withhold your mercy from me. Let your steadfast love and your faithfulness keep me safe forever.
Ps 40: 11
Sometimes, we overlook the truth that our safety depends upon God. At one command of God,
angels will rush at our side to protect us. But, we sometimes wonder why still bad things happen to us. First, we are not immune from trials of the Lord. God test also our faithfulness for He test his
most faithful ones, like in the story of Job and Abraham. Secondly, we are not immune from
temptations. At times , we yield and sin against God Almighty. He loves us, yet we also get the
consequences of our choices.
The best protection for us is attendance of Holy Mass. Then when we read the Word of God, the sword of the Spirit, we are protected, too. We also need to pray always to ask God for more strength to combat sin whose wages is death of one's soul and body. One good way is to praise God at all times because God dwells in the praises of His people! Thus, God's grace keep us safe, nothing else!
